Chicago Bridal Inspiration Session + An Announcement

Friends, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about this bridal inspiration session in West Ridge Nature Preserve on the north side of the city! I was lucky enough to collaborate with some of the most incredible and talented women in Chicago and see the amazing things that can happen when creatives get together. I got to see Honey Bridal's gorgeous location in Anderonsville, visit with Marguerite Gardens and photograph their gorgeous bouquet, witness Ashley Longtin work her magic with airbrush makeup, and look at the gorgeous Nzinga Ain all day. ;) I don't think I'll ever be able to thank these inspirational women enough for all the work they did to put this session together (or believe how smoothly it went and how much I love these photographs).

We met at Honey Bridal where Ashley did Nzinga's makeup and taught us a little bit about the benefits of airbrushing (so cool), and then we photographed some portraits in the space. Nzinga was wearing Tatyana Merenyuk gowns that made her look like an effortless goddess, and after photographing at Honey we went to West Ridge Nature Preserve for some sunset shots. We walked around the paths through the trees, stopping by small streams under bridges, and took advantage of Nzinga's princess charm by having her sit at the top of her "castle", overlooking the nature preserve. Nzinga literally had ducks swimming beneath her like she was Snow White. I can't even tell you how incredible it was!

This bridal inspiration session was a completely new venture for me as an artist because I'll be honest with you; I've never desired photographing large, elaborate weddings - preferring instead to be a part of intimate sessions with just my couples and away from the stress that large weddings can contain. This bridal inspiration session was the first step in a new direction that I'm just beginning to consider and am still nervous about (because all good ideas come with some nerves). That direction is towards intimate elopements in the Chicagoland area as a way to continue serving my clients while still maintaining the connection I strive for with each couples! I'm still working out the details of this new type of offering, so if you would like to hear about news and updates regarding the sessions, sign up for the waitlist below!
